The request was to have a digital system that would store the information on the field survey, which can be done by surveyors in any location easily because it will also guarantee the consistency of the data.
Reduce Dependency on Manual Processes
There was a need to be able to cut redundant paperwork, minimize human error, and collaborate between survey and installation teams in real-time.





Paper-based Data Collection
Paper records were used in taking surveys, and as a result, data was lost, or miscommunication could occur; the installation teams could not access the information.





Manual Estimation Processing
The planning of installations was based on manual analysis of survey data. It influenced the turnaround time and made inaccurate estimations more likely.





Lack of Digital Acknowledgement
Signing off clients was not standardized after the installation, which affected the process of verification and tracking approval.





Disconnected Field Operations
There was no integrated access to shared information by the survey and installation crew, and communication between teams was hard, which slowed the work process.






Custom Salesforce Portal Development
Field teams were provided with a responsive and intuitive portal to organize surveys and submit them with an interactive LWC-like interface. Apex controllers were used to deal with backend logic to provide data integrity.
Automated Survey Reporting
Elaborate specifications of unit configuration, dimensions, type of hinge and door, and electrical were taken using survey forms. A standard PDF structure report of the survey was also created via Visualforce, and on submission a report is generated.
Workflow Automation with Record Types
It has two types of records, namely, one to have a route (supply only) and another one to have a route (supply & install), based on which the records will enter different workflows. Automation through Salesforce Flows creates seamless handoffs, generation of tasks, and creation of reports.
Installation Coordination & eSignature Acknowledgement
Survey information was accessed, revit-generated cut sheet drawings were uploaded, and post-installation acknowledgments in the form of slips printed and signed with an e-signature using a custom e-signature LWC component by the installation team using the same portal.
