The client wished to have immediate referrers and referral lead notifications, as well as better referral performance measure visibility.

Every referral had to be manually checked on the database to ensure that they were eligible, which added workload to the operation and was slow in communicating with the participants.

The lack of automated cross-verification resulted in the entry of the participants into the referral workflow, potentially posing a risk to compliance since the duplicate can be a participant as well.

Referrers were not confirmed immediately or updated on their status, which undermined the engagement and diminished interest towards the incentive program.

Referral tracking did not have a centralized reporting system, and thus it was not easy to analyze the performance of the campaigns, rewards eligibility, and program ROI.
Custom CloudPage Referral Development
A dynamic CloudPage was created that is used to secure referral submissions. Fields that were required were checked during the submission, and real-time information was sent to Marketing Cloud for data extensions with the Sales Cloud for real-time updates.
Automated Referral Checklist framework
SQL query processes were set to match the referral email addresses and phone numbers with current donor records. Duplicates or entries that were already active and ineligible were automatically detected and repressed.
Systematic Buddy Referral Journey
A conditional journey was also applied, where authoritative referrals were used to send emails to referrers and induction messages to referred leads. Eligibility to receive a bonus was also automated depending on the milestones achieved in making donations.
Notification Automation Compliance
There were automated decision splits that were set to inform the participants in a polite manner in the event of ineligibility. This guaranteed transparency and maintained the program’s integrity and compliance standards.
