Real-time streaming data processing was necessary. The client needed a system that could ingest, process, and analyze high-velocity streams of data to support operational and customer-centric applications.
Scalable and Integrated Data Ecosystem
There was a need to have a single and scalable data ecosystem to do away with silos. The integration in the various systems and platforms was to be seamless to ensure consistency, accessibility, and long-term flexibility.

Connected vehicle data was currently being produced in large amounts. The current systems were not designed to handle and store this data effectively, which led to delays and underutilization of important insights.

Lack of real-time data processing hindered the ability of the client to make real-time decisions. Latency insights affected operational performance and diminished the value of data from connected vehicles.

Various disparate systems formed data silos, and thus it was hard to have a cohesive view. The inconsistencies in data and complexities in integration impaired analytics and strategic decision-making.

The current infrastructure was not scalable to meet the increasing data needs. Connected vehicle services could not be expanded in the future because of architectural constraints and performance bottlenecks.
Connected Vehicle Data Architecture Design
Databricks and Azure Data Lake were used to develop a scalable and modular data architecture. The Lakehouse approach was created, which allowed integrating structured and unstructured data and providing advanced analytics and scalability in the long run.
Implementation of Real-Time Processing Framework
Apache Spark was used in the Databricks environment to implement a real-time data processing strategy. Streaming pipelines were designed in such a way that they can ingest and process high-velocity vehicle data in an efficient manner so that they can provide low-latency insights and responsiveness.
Data Governance and Data Integration Framework
We advised and rolled out robust data integration frameworks to integrate fragmented systems. Delta Lake was used to provide data reliability, consistency, and version control so that data can be easily accessed by different business units.
Scalability and Future-Readiness Roadmap
An extensive scalability plan was created, using the power of cloud-native. It was also designed to be performance- and extensibility-oriented and ready to accommodate future mobility services like predictive maintenance and autonomous driving insights.
